We have been boaters all our married years, and we have traveled the intracoastal from New York to Florida and inland waterways through
the years. We were no strangers to Shady Harbor prior to taking over having docked as transients, and staying many times over the past twenty years. Being boaters, we understand the importance of being treated right wherever our boat takes us.

The way we see it, a good positive attitude, and a strong desire to create a fun environment are most important. We hope to see you regularly as we continually improve upon our facilities. As always we welcome your comments and suggestions.

Transients Welcome

Donovan's Shady Harbor Marina is a proud sponsor of the Great Loop Association,conveniently located just South of Albany on the Hudson River with easy approach deep water slips.

Stay a day, a week, or a month at this family and pet friendly facility and enjoy a full-service marina complete with a convenience store, ships store, gift shop, bathhouse, laundry room, swimming pool, restaurant and more. Enjoy free wireless and cable TV. Both gas and diesel fuel available.

For all of our overnight docking guests, we offer water hookup, electricity, and free pump-out service. There is always a dock master on hand to guide you in and aid in your slip placement. We monitor channel 16 on your VHF radio. Just call ahead as you approach our marina.

Reserve a Slip

With a deep water approach and talented staff we are a great place to call home. A full service marina awaits you with gas and diesel fuel, a ship's store, fully stocked parts and accessories and certified mechanics on site. Stock up on everything you need at our brand new convenience store. Enjoy the gift shop and browse apparel, jewelry, and more. We also have an inground pool, bathhouse, and laundry facility if you feel like spending some time on shore. Grab lunch or dinner at Yanni's Cucina located on the premises. Donovan's Shady Harbor Marina is a family and pet friendly facility. In fact, you will most likely meet the Donovan's kids or their yellow lab Chloe out on the docks.

Plan a Rendezvous

Get your friends together and plan a trip up the Hudson River to Donovan's Shady Harbor Marina. Stay a night or two before exploring further North, or plan to stay with us and explore all that Greene County has to offer!
You can easily get to Albany, or to Saratoga to enjoy a day at the Flat Track. End your visit with a casual barbecue back at the marina and enjoy the pool and bathhouse.
We are here to help plan your visit with meals, transportation, and daily trips to numerous tourist attractions. We have packages to make your weekend one to remember.

Explore to the West or North

Donovan’s Shady Harbor Marina is the first full-service marina past Catskill and just 12 miles South of Albany. We are a great place for boaters of all kinds including sailboaters and kayakers to reprovision with our new convenience store stocked with dairy items, groceries and beer. Without the Catskill Marina and Troy Docks in commission, we are the last place to step your mast before heading North through the Albany and Troy Locks.

Be sure to stop in before continuing your trip, the Donovan’s have traveled the waterways extensively on their own boat and can offer some sound advice. We are also proud to be Commander Level Sponsors of the America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association.

After entering the lock you can explore the Erie Canal all the way to Buffalo on Lake Erie, take the Oswego Canal to Lake Ontario or head North through the Champlain Canal and over to the St. Lawrence Seaway.
